Catalina is a 13-hectare water-retention landscape near Vejer de la Frontera insouthern Spain, part of the wider Almenara Culturas Regenerativas initiative. Over thepast decade, swales, terraces, ponds, and reforestation efforts have transformed once-eroded slopes into a thriving ecosystem — a living classroom for permaculture,community, and ecological repair.
We are a small intentional community deeply engaged in the restoration of both landand culture. Our hands-on focus is local, yet we also collaborate in projects with impactacross Europe.
We are now seeking a Resident Earth Care Steward to live in community and work on-site, caring for the land while guiding its next phase of regeneration. The role involvescoordinating daily Earth Care work, supporting volunteers, and refining our systems fortree care, soil building, and agroforestry. Ideally, this role would begin in February orMarch 2026, though we can be somewhat flexible.
The right person will be grounded in permaculture design, with experience inregenerative agriculture and/or syntropic agroforestry, and comfortable leadingsmall teams with clarity and care. This is a resident position for someone proficient inEnglish and Spanish, organised, collaborative, and ready to imagine a multi-yearcommitment following an initial trial period.
Our remuneration has two parts: a modest paid salary with benefits, plus food, privateaccommodation, and access to community spaces and resources.
