The Permaculture Design Course (PDC) at Keela Farm is officially certified by the Permaculture Association and offers a highly practical approach to learning. Over two weeks you’ll cover the full 72-hour international curriculum, but most of your time will be spent learning by doing.

On our 52-acre working farm, you’ll take part in real projects — planting trees, working with soil, composting, and building with natural materials like cob and straw bale. You’ll see food forests, agroforestry systems, and integrated animal management in action, gaining experience you can take home and apply to your own land or project.

Each student develops a personal design project, ensuring the course links directly to their future goals. Whether that’s planning a garden, starting a farm, or setting up small-scale systems like balcony growing or worm farming, you’ll leave with a design ready to put into practice.

During the course you’ll live off-grid, enjoy organic meals, and be part of a supportive learning community, with optional yoga or calisthenics available.

The PDC can be taken as a two-week course, or extended to a full month by adding our Natural Building and Permaculture in Practice trainings. Successful graduates receive an internationally recognized certificate, confirming their skills in permaculture design and sustainable living.

With this certificate, you will then be able to:
